The Memorial Passageway

The Church is a pilgrim people. The approach to the Chapel is designed to remind us of our journey from birth, through life to death.

The Archway into the Chapel

The narrow path leads to the main doors, which are reminders of Jesus who is referred to as a "door" in scripture. Knock and it shall be opened, seek and you shall find, ask and you shall receive. Anything is possible on the Christian journey. Loneliness give way to companionship, hunger gives way to sustenance, sickness gives way to health, and even death gives way to everlasting life. Anything is possible with God.

The Five Orders

Full of abundant life and lift, this transition into the chapel is a place of memory and foundation. The windows are etched with the emblems of the five women religious groups who founded Marian Woods. They are reminders that the people of God are the living stones — the foundations for the Church. This area serves as a threshold or gateway into the main worship space — the sheepfold.
